Driver’s License

A driver establishing domicile in Texas is required to obtain a Texas Driver’s License within 30 days, Vehicle Registration is required prior to obtaining the license. Application for a Texas License may be made at:

Automobile Registration

All persons who establish residence or domicile, or become engaged in gainful employment in Texas must register and title their vehicle in this state. Vehicles may be operated for 30 days, after which time immediate registration is required. For further information contact:

Voter Registraton

To be eligible to vote, you must submit a completed voter registration application at least 30 days before an election. Voter registration application may be requested by mail from:

Voter Facts

If you change your name or address you must notify the Tax Assessors Collector’s Office 30 days prior to an election.

If you lose your registration certificate, notify the Tax Assessors Collector’s Office to obtain a replacement. You may vote a limited ballot during the first 90 days after moving.

You must vote in your precinct of residence which is designated on the registration certificate.

Early voting begins 14 days before an election and ends 4 days before the election.

Property Tax

Tax bills are mailed out by mid October of every year. Taxes are due by January 31 of the following year. All taxes become deliquent on February 1. Contact the County Tax Office (409) 983-8316 if you do not receive a bill by the end of October
